Marketers Flock to SXSWi For Another Year of Digital Trends, Innovations
T-minus 4 days until I’m wearing warm weather clothes, eating tex-mex, and geeking out over the future of advertising. That’s right, we’re less than a week away from SXSW ’15!
If you’re heading to Austin this year, these are the trends and panels you won’t want to miss:
- In-store geo-sensor technology are predicted to change the way brands (especially in the retail category) connect with consumers. This year there are several beacon-centric sessions, in addition to a beacon meet up (#SXSWBeacon), for those interested in how beacons can enhance their company.
o Session: Beacons, mPay and The Great Shopper Reboot
o Session: Beacons for Good: Avoiding the Creepy
- Beacon technology will also be put to use at this year’s event via the SXSW GO mobile app. Leveraging Bluetooth LE, attendees will have a comprehensive view of other attendees near them and will have the ability to introduce themselves via message. The app will also provide tips on what events are happening in nearby venues.
Content Marketing & Media Distribution
- Content marketing is changing the way brands think about digital and social. In today’s world, it’s not enough to just have a big idea – brands must create experiences in order to engage the consumer. In these sessions, marketers will learn how personalized content and audience targeting are replacing the “one size fits all” approach.
o Session: The Future of Distributed Media
o Session: Millennials and Sports: Reaching Next Gen Fans
Mobile & Wearables
- Some speculate the Apple Watch could become a viable marketing channel for brands. Hear how mobile technology and innovations are influencing media consumption.
o Session: Seemingly Seamless
