Why global brands should have a bigger presence on international social media platforms

As Westerners, we tend to automatically think of social media as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ etc. In Canada and the United States, Facebook is the #1 used social networking site, followed by Twitter. With millions of people participating on these social networks in each of these countries, brands are attracted to focus their digital content on those platforms.
